We are starting a series of easy tricks for removing stains from fabrics simply and effectively. We will periodically publish more tricks for removing traces of oil, tomato, fruit, etc.
However, we do not recommend using these tricks on fabrics that cannot be washed normally, such as sequinned fabrics, cotton fabrics, velvets and felts.
REMOVING SWEAT STAINS FROM CLOTHING AND FABRICS
1. White vinegar – Soak a white cloth in white vinegar and press lightly against the sweat stains. Then wash the clothes as usual.
2. Hydrogen peroxide – In the case of a tracksuit, if it is white or very light in colour, simply wipe the sweat stain with a cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide.
3. Alcohol vinegar (white) – In the case of wool, you can clean it with a little white alcohol vinegar diluted with water. The sweat stain should disappear quickly this way.
4. Oxalic acid – For dark-coloured fabrics, press the stain with a cloth soaked in oxalic acid. Rinse and press again with a cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide.
5.Lemon juice – If your clothes are delicate, press the stain with a cloth soaked in lemon juice. If you prefer, you can dilute the lemon juice with water.
6. Ammonia – Soak a cloth in ammonia and gently press it onto the sweat stain to make it disappear quickly.
7. Bleaching product – There is a wide variety of bleaching products on the market that are very effective against sweat stains. Once the product has been applied, wash your clothes as usual.
8. Enzyme detergent – Rub sweat stains with this detergent, which you can find in chemists. Leave it to work for a few minutes and then wash.
9. Make a cleaning paste – Make a paste with bicarbonate of soda mixed with white vinegar, apply it to the stain and leave it to work for a few hours. Once the time has elapsed, wash the clothes in the washing machine.
10. Peroxide – You can remove sweat stains with peroxide, but be careful as this product can be toxic.
Removing stains can be a delicate and demanding task. It is always preferable to test a small, inconspicuous area of the garment or fabric before attempting to remove stains and causing possible damage to the treated garment. Visit us to give your garments the best care.
