Learn more about the benefits of cleaning with hydrogen peroxide multi-purpose cleaner.
Hydrogen peroxide, also known as oxygenated water, has always been one of the most commonly used disinfectants worldwide.
Who doesn't have hydrogen peroxide in their home medicine cabinet?
But did you know that it is used effectively in the cleaning industry and can be used at home to clean your house?
In the last decade, multipurpose hydrogen peroxide products for the commercial cleaning industry have experienced an unprecedented boom and have become the most versatile and widely used multipurpose product in many companies that care about the environment and the people around them. It has become the sustainable multipurpose product par excellence for good reason. Hydrogen peroxide formulated by many chemical manufacturers for the commercial cleaning industry is highly versatile and extremely cost-effective due to its formidable ability to do the job of multiple cleaners.
Its strong oxidizing properties have made it a powerful multipurpose cleaner, the perfect solution for cleaning companies. Even today, it is being used as the perfect disinfectant cleaner for hospital cleaning because when formulated for this purpose and used correctly, it can kill multiple germs, toxins, and bacteria.
What's more, using hydrogen peroxide for cleaning is practical, non-toxic, and inexpensive!
The most sustainable and practical solution for the cleaning industry.
What is hydrogen peroxide?
Hydrogen peroxide has almost the same chemical composition as water, but with an additional oxygen atom. This allows it to break down quickly and harmlessly, making it completely safe for people and the environment. It is commonly used for many different purposes, including commercial cleaning. It is a dense, clear liquid with the chemical formula H2O2.
What makes cleaning with hydrogen peroxide multi-purpose cleaner special?
Hydrogen peroxide is sometimes referred to as oxygen bleach because of its oxidizing ability. It is a great oxidizing agent because it promotes chemical reactions through the transfer of oxygen atoms, a property that in the commercial cleaning industry helps it break down stains, bleach and brighten colors, destroy odor-causing bacteria, deodorize surfaces, and destroy all kinds of dirt.
Being so versatile in cleaning, it works perfectly as the most functional sustainable multi-purpose cleaner on the market, as it can be used on practically all types of surfaces such as floors, mirrors, furniture, metal, textiles, and many more. A single product where we previously needed three products, it is one of the easiest and safest ways to clean an office building, school, or any other type of establishment, ensuring a clean working environment without the toxic ingredients found in most cleaning products.
Does hydrogen peroxide clean? On its own, hydrogen peroxide does NOT clean when it comes to commercial cleaning, although hydrogen peroxide can clean certain types of dirt (but we cannot use hydrogen peroxide in commercial cleaning).
When combined with the right ingredients, it becomes one of the safest cleaning products for people and the environment. Formulations of hydrogen peroxide and a type of solvent, which may include something natural, such as citrus or d-limonene (the main component of oil extracted from citrus peel) or another type of degreasing surfactant, make it a great multi-purpose cleaner.
Cleaning with hydrogen peroxide works on protein-based stains on all types of surfaces, including carpets and rugs, while also acting as an effective deodorizer. It is ideal for eliminating odors, although it is not as effective on petroleum-based stains and on crystallized floors or those treated with waxes or acrylic polymers, as it can damage the shine.
Hydrogen peroxide for cleaning is usually formulated in solutions characterized as pH neutral, which makes it stable yet active enough to clean even in sensitive situations such as hard water. Hydrogen peroxide cleaners are highly cost-effective when formulated as concentrates.
Different dilutions are typically used for different cleaning tasks, and due to the wide range of cleaning tasks that can be performed with it, it can replace multiple conventional cleaning products.
Cleaning characteristics of hydrogen peroxide
But what makes hydrogen peroxide such a powerful and effective cleaner? Let's take a look at the important benefits of using hydrogen peroxide in commercial cleaning and in the facilities where it is used for cleaning:
Effectiveness: Hydrogen peroxide is incredibly effective; it cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes surfaces, and can even be a great disinfectant if formulated for that purpose. Even without being a disinfectant, it is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-mold, and anti-fungal, making it useful for cleaning your establishment and protecting against many infections and other emerging threats. Using a hydrogen peroxide-based solution will help provide a healthier environment with a cleaner and more hygienic indoor atmosphere, minimizing the risk of infections. Hydrogen peroxide dissipates, leaving a clean, residue-free surface. It is as easy to use as spraying it on the surface to be cleaned and wiping it with a microfiber cloth; nothing will remain on the surface.
Safety: A unique challenge that many cleaning companies or you yourself face when cleaning your facilities is that the chemicals used to achieve this goal work but do not damage the establishment's expensive equipment and infrastructure. Hydrogen peroxide-based solutions are not only effective, but they are gentle enough to ensure that no equipment is damaged during the cleaning process.
Sustainable: Many commercial products are harmful to the environment, gradually damage surfaces through daily contact, and contribute to indoor air pollution. For example, fragranced cleaning solutions can cause respiratory irritation, headaches, and increased sensitivity in people with allergies. Other chemicals are associated with long-term problems, such as cancer. However, because hydrogen peroxide breaks down into the natural components of water and oxygen, it is safe and non-toxic to the environment and the people who inhabit it.
Simplicity: One of the biggest benefits of hydrogen peroxide is the simplicity it offers. Instead of using dozens of different types of cleaning products, you have one universal solution. This will save you time and money and ensure that you always have the product you need on hand. This simplified approach will also make training cleaning staff more efficient, effective, and safer in the establishment to be cleaned, with better end results.
Who hasn't enjoyed the bubbling of hydrogen peroxide when spilled on a dirty surface? Well, this bubbling is more than just entertainment; it has become a powerful cleaning and sanitizing product in action, one of the easiest ways to ensure a safer and cleaner space with lower bacteria levels, but without the risk of toxicity sometimes associated with conventional cleaning products, even most so-called eco-friendly products. When you clean with hydrogen peroxide, you not only protect the health of your employees and other building users, but you also help reduce the damage done to the environment.
Unlike cleaners used to date, even some so-called eco-friendly ones, well-formulated hydrogen peroxide cleaners are more environmentally friendly because when hydrogen peroxide dissipates, the results are simple water and oxygen, neither of which has a negative impact on the environment.
Is hydrogen peroxide a disinfectant?
We must be careful here. A popular product on the market such as hydrogen peroxide, which contains hydrogen peroxide, has disinfecting properties if used at the right concentration, but there are few cleaners formulated with hydrogen peroxide to date that contain these properties.
Most cleaning products containing hydrogen peroxide do not have registered pesticide claims unless they are formulated for this purpose. Such products are available in countries such as the United States, Japan, and Canada, and their use continues to grow, but not in the Spanish market. Regardless of whether it is formulated for use as a disinfectant cleaner, it is important to note that commercial products containing hydrogen peroxide are effective as sanitizers in their own right, even the most powerful on the market due to their ability to sanitize (sanitizing is eliminating 99.9% of microorganisms from a surface in 30 seconds, and disinfecting is eliminating 99.999% of microorganisms).
Hydrogen peroxide cleaner can be used to clean surfaces such as mirrors and glass, stainless steel countertops, bathrooms, bathtubs, and showers if there is not too much limescale, kitchens, aluminum, brass, painted surfaces, ceramic floors, wooden furniture, chrome accessories, textiles, rugs, and carpets (but always check first to see if it could cause discoloration, although this has never happened to us) and many other surfaces, which will be left clean, deodorized, and sanitized.
